Ever wondered what your cleaning products are made of? Chances are that they can include some harmful chemicals or plastic packaging which aren’t necessarily environmentally friendly. To help combat this, we sourced some tips on how to implement green cleaning in your home while saving you a couple of extra bucks.
Create your own air freshener spray with essential oils
From aromatherapy to pest repellent, essential oils can be used for nearly anything - even as a deodorizer! Instead of Febreze or other sprays, you can make your own air freshener by adding 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 5-6 drops of your chosen essential oil to a spray bottle with water. After that, all you have to do is shake it up and spray!
Make your own multi-purpose spray with lemon and vinegar
Household items like lemon and vinegar have natural cleaning properties you can easily find in your pantry. Steep lemon rinds in white vinegar for a week, after which you can strain the liquid into a spray bottle and add water. Spray this mixture on your kitchen counter, furniture, and even your bathroom.
