Being eco-friendly is a never-ending task, as it should be. The planet has undergone so much pain and abuse, so it's going to take a lot to guide it back to health. You've done your part by investing in eco-friendly products, but some of those might need an upgrade. The following are 10 products that may need an update.

1. Food Storage Bag

You might use plastic baggies to store leftovers or cookies. Well, those baggies can be upgraded. You probably buy recycled food storage bags, or maybe you get compostable storage bags. You can now get reusable silicone storage bags to get the job done.

2. Cleaners

Cleaners have been getting greener. Some don't use chemicals that hurt the earth, while others come in recycled containers. You can now get a reusable spray cleaner for your cleaning needs. The multipurpose cleaner can be purchased afterward to refill your glass sprayer. You don't have to throw spray cleaning bottles away anymore.

3. Water Bottles

Having a reusable or metal water bottle is great because it means you aren't buying plastic bottles that you have to throw away. There's a new type of green water bottle to consider though, and that's the double wall insulated water bottle. This can keep your liquid cold or warm much longer, meaning you can get more usage out of it than ever before.

4. Paper Towels

You've probably upgraded to something like recycled paper towels. Instead of buying something you have to throw away and replace all the time, why not buy something you can reuse. While it's great that you're buying a product that doesn't kill more trees, you can take things a step further. You can invest in washable cleaning cloths. These can be used as a sponge and paper towel.

5. Trash Can

Maybe you're doing your best to recycle, which is good. The thing is that you can do even more with your waste. You can compost your waste, and composting waste has never been easier. A composting bin can compost your discarded foodstuff, which can be used in your lawn or garden. The possibilities are endless and much greener.

6. Laundry Detergent

A home can pump so much bad stuff into the waterways and eventually nearby bodies of water. One way this happens is with the laundry detergent used. Maybe you're trying to wash less and can take a major step forward with plant-based detergent. What's even better is that companies that make this detergent also use renewable energy to produce the product, which is eco-friendly.

7. Straws

Some green-friendly homes have switched their straws for something better. Straws can be so wasteful and hurtful to the environment but not if you only buy biodegradable straws. These will degrade easily after you throw them away. If you want to do even better, all you need to do is invest in metal reusable straws that you can wash again. These aren't only earth-friendly but look pretty cool, too.

8. Travel Cooler

Coolers are hard to recycle. After disposing of them, they stay in some landfill for years. That's not a good thing for the planet, but if you want to reduce your carbon footprint, you'll want to consider the new biodegradable cooler. It gets the job done. It keeps your foodstuff safe, and your heart will be happier knowing that you're doing your part for the planet.

9. Dryer Sheets

Those dryer sheets are full of chemicals that aren't good for the environment or your skin. If that isn't enough, you also have to throw them away, and they aren't going to degrade easily. The good thing is that you can upgrade with wool dryer balls. These can be used for some time before you throw them away, and they are biodegradable. All you need to do is spray it with your favorite natural body mist, and you're good to go.

10. Cooking Utensils

Plastic cooking utensils are cheap but aren't biodegradable. If you use metal, then you're doing a little better, but metal isn't biodegradable, though you can get a lot more use out of these types of utensils. The best thing you can do is go for bamboo cooking utensils. These are dishwasher safe and super easy to clean, unlike regular wooden cooking utensils. Plus, they're biodegradable.

These are 10 products you can use in your home to be more eco-friendly. Hopefully, you can get some if not all of these products to reduce your carbon footprint, but continue to keep a lookout for new green products.
