According to the World Health Organization, the number of people with diabetes rose from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. One of the reasons why more people have diabetes today is because of the number of sugary products consumed worldwide daily. 

Diabetes is a significant cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke, and lower limb amputation. It is also common knowledge that once a person has diabetes, there is a big chance that another chronic disorder might stem from the disease. If that does not scare you, imagine the 1.6 million deaths worldwide this disease has caused. 

A healthy diet, regular physical activity, maintaining healthy body weight, and avoiding tobacco use, prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. The best way to prevent diabetes, however, is to avoid overconsumption of sweet foods. However, if you have diabetes, you can hire a caregiver to assist you with your needs.
