Today us here at Magazine MN want to share with you why gardening is a great way to not only do your bit for the environment, but also take care of yourself physically and mentally. We have teamed up with the good people at WhatShed to bring you this infographic which shows you why gardening could be the best thing you ever took up!

The first thing that is worth noting is just how good gardening can make you feel. Being exposed to the natural soil makes you happier. Plus not only gardening is one of the best ways that a person can get rid of their stress. Many studies have shown that gardeners have much lower stress levels. So, if you are looking for a more productive way to have fun and get rid of the stress that your daily life causes, gardening is perfect for you.

By growing your own food, you are making sure that you have plenty of healthy and natural food to eat. Food always tastes better when you have grown it by yourself! Also by growing your own food and not buying it from the store, you are doing your little bit for the environment as well.

Gardening is also a way for you to get some exercise. You may be wondering just how much exercise can gardening be? But actually, gardening is a real calorie burner as spending a few hours taking care of the garden and growing your own food can burn as many calories as an hour in the gym. It really does help you stay in shape as gardeners have a much lower BMI and they also are less likely to have a heart attack or a stroke as a result of the improved health that garden provides.

So check out the infographic to see all of the reasons why gardening is great for your body, your mind, and the environment.
